Autel IKEYOL004AL Key Making Process:
The Autel IKEYOL004AL is a programmable smart key designed to replace lost or damaged car keys. The key-making process involves multiple steps, including assembling electronic and mechanical components, followed by programming the key to function with the target vehicle. The image above illustrates the entire process, which we will explain in detail.
Step 1: Remote Generation
The process begins with the creation of the remote control unit. The electronic circuit board is manufactured, incorporating all necessary components to send and receive wireless signals used for locking and unlocking the vehicle.
Step 2: Battery Installation
Once the remote unit is ready, a battery is installed into the circuit board. It is important to note that the battery is not included with the key and must be purchased separately.
Step 3: Installing the Remote Unit in the Key Housing
After inserting the battery, the remote control unit is placed inside the key housing. This provides protection for the internal components and gives the key its final physical form.
Step 4: Preparing the Uncut Key Blade
The key includes an uncut metal blade, which is later processed using specialized cutting machines to match the target vehicle’s lock. The cutting pattern is determined based on the vehicle’s specifications.
Step 5: Installing the Key Blade
Once the key blade is cut to match the vehicle’s lock, it is securely inserted into the key housing, making it ready for use.
Step 6: Key Matching and Programming
This is the most crucial step, where a key programming device such as Autel is used to sync the new key with the car’s system. The process involves pairing the key with the vehicle via wireless signals.
Step 7: Testing the Key
After programming is completed, a functional test is performed to ensure all features work correctly, including door locking/unlocking, engine start, and other connected functions.
