Maxell draws its brand name from “maximum capacity dry cell”. As you might expect from the name, they are innovators in the realm of battery technology. They’ve been manufacturing batteries since 1960. Among their latest innovations is an advance in the engineering of lithium-ion cells that results in batteries with as much as 20 times the storage capacity and can be mass produced at a lower cost.

Maxell manufactures the full line of consumer and industrial batteries, and is perhaps best known for their CR series of lithium manganese oxide button or “Coin” cells.
